As a result of our continuous growth, a vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Manager to form part of its growing and successful team. 

Overall Purpose:

In this role we are seeking for a sales engineering professional who effectively combines in-depth technical knowledge with strong business development skills, facilitating the promotion of our cutting-edge technical products and services.

A professional responsible for identifying business opportunities, establish and nurture strategic partnerships with other companies, distributors, or resellers locally, and internationally. Expand the company’s market presence by developing sales strategies to penetrate new markets and clientele. Negotiate contracts with customers, vendors, and partners, and ultimately increase the revenue and profitability of the company. 

The company’s products relate to Internet of Things applications, including GPS vehicle and fleet tracking services, level and distance monitoring of fuel, oil, wastewater, water tanks, temperature and humidity control applications, on-street parking management, and others.

The products and services are targeted towards both the local and international markets, direct to businesses, software integrators, consumers, and government entities.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

Product Knowledge: Must have a deep understanding of the technical aspects and capabilities of the products or services that are being sold. Be expert in the features, specifications, and benefits of what they offer and to technically support the clients.

Customer Needs Assessment: Work closely with customers to identify their needs, challenges, and objectives. Use technical expertise to determine how the products or services can address these needs effectively.

Market Research: Continuously conduct research to identify competitive products or services, competitor activity, pricing and tactics. Use this information to develop effective marketing and sales strategies.

Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve business objectives, such as increasing market share, revenue growth, and profitability.

Sales and Revenue Generation: Leading sales efforts by generating leads, qualifying prospects, negotiating contracts, and closing deals to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.

Building Relationships: Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, partners, industry influencers, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive business growth.

Post-Sale Support: After a sale is made, the business development manager may continue to support the customer by ensuring the successful implementation of the product or service and addressing any technical issues that may arise.

Technical Support: To provide technical support and answer customer questions.

Address concerns, objections, and provide detailed information on the product or service.

Quoting and Pricing: Be responsible for providing pricing and quotes to customers, taking into account their specific needs and configurations.

Financial Management: Managing budgets, forecasting sales projections, and tracking financial performance to ensure cost-effective business operations and maximise profitability.

Representation: To represent the Company during conferences, workshops and other activities thus keeping abreast of current information and developments in the field and making new business contacts.

Requirements:

The suitable candidate should: 

  • Be resident in Malta, be fluent in Maltese and English, and hold a car driving license;
  • Have a Degree or relevant proven work experience in engineering;
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, and ability to adept at identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Strong networking skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry contacts.
  • The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and focused on achieving results.
  • Possess excellent communication and listening skills, a positive attitude, and a resilient character, along with a strong customer orientation.
