Hosted by Newtech’s G.M., JJ Miceli Demajo, the Securing Knowledge Event brought entertainment coupled with valuable information to our top Executives with knowledge pertaining to the controlling of company data and how to process control in manners which inhibit repercussions in so doing. The Event was held last Wednesday at the Le Meridien St. Julians.

The morning session, targeted towards Business Management mainly, CIOs, CTOs, CSOs, Company Owners, CEOs and Managing Directors, enjoyed a successful turnout of over 90 attendees ranging from different companies. This was followed by an afternoon session with our business partners for a more technical drilldown presentation.

Local speakers included Gerry Moore, Group IT Director, EC English, Alan Alden, Director, Kyte Consultants and Donald Tabone, Associate Director – IT Advisory, KPMG. Presentations focused on the importance of security during growth transitions, the possibilities of protecting data whilst sharing it and the importance of implementing awareness, policies and controls to protect company data.

Ram Magen and Benjy Portnoy from Symantec joined us for this event giving us an overview of security threats and solutions and the Symantec security product offerings.

The aim of these events is to support our partners in generating sales leads and business opportunities.

Over the last year and a half Newtech has taken a clear direction to support its partners on pre-sales and technical support, to increase business opportunities, and to offer a larger range of quality products and services.
