Carolyn Wrigley was sponsored by Newtech to attend a Microsoft Event which was held in the UK at the Microsoft Campus, Thames Valley Park in Reading on the 21st of November 2007.
This was an Overview of Microsoft Licensing and New Licensing Policies. It was an in-depth course, and was organized to evaluate the different licensing options. The following topics were covered:

-�The differences between OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), FPP (Full Pack Product) and Volume Licensing
-�The benefits of investing in Software Assurance
-�Managing licences using Software Asset Management (SAM)
-�How to licence a client/server environment, including Terminal Services and Virtual Server
-�The various types of Client Access Licences
-�Licensing Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003 and others
-�Preview of Licensing for 2007 Servers
The course was very well presented by Ms. Jackie Elleker, a member of the Microsoft Presentation Team, whose role involves delivering licensing and product training to partners and customers.
It was well attended by IT Professionals and Business Decision Makers, with an audience number of approximately 100 people.
