Exigy was given the opportunity to exhibit its cost-effective packaged solutions, specifically targeted at SMEs engaged in Retail and Distribution, at MCA's 6th Annual Conference which was held at the Westin Dragonara Resort on the 24th of October.  The main focus of the conference was on how eCommerce Capabilities can lead the world to move towards a borderless economy.

After a short address by Ing. Philip Micallef, MCA Chairman, and Hon. Austin Gatt, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, contributors from various national and foreign enterprises provided their views on diverse aspects of eCommerce and how this is affecting trade in general.  During the first discussion, the topic of foreign direct investment was observed, providing insight into: Malta's e-readiness and attractiveness for foreign investment, including the presentation of a recent survey conducted by Ernst & Young; Australia's status of eCommerce and how eCommerce has become an essential business tool for Australian Businesses and Government; and the British experience to stimulate ICT adoption within SMEs.

The second discussion provided more visibility into: the challenges and opportunities brought about by B2B eCommerce; the benefits of a successful B2B eCommerce campaign; the importance of the concept of a borderless organisation for creating differentiated services and knowledge workers throughout the value chain.  The third discussion treated B2C eCommerce: how eCommerce is revolutionising today's buying behaviours; what needs to be done to more effectively meet consumers' demands; the importance of security and transparency at the base of an eCommerce platform; and why organisations need to be e-ready and re-evaluate their channel approach from the social web and customer centric perspectives.

Exigy's representatives met with various high profile company delegates, who were presented with businessQuickStart - the financial and eCommerce capabilities that Exigy has packaged into an out-of-the-box product - aimed at providing a cost-effective solution for companies that are not looking to invest much in the IT set-up within their company.  Nonetheless businessQuickStart grows with your business, allowing you to purchase only the applications which you currently need, with the peace of mind that your platform can support any further applications that you might wish to integrate with your system in the future.
